“In My Sentimental Dreaming” is about to land!

The new CD is about to make its way into the world! I can truly say that this collection of songs is very close to my heart. The project is dedicated to my dad who passed away when I was very young of colon cancer. My dad instilled in me a love of music – especially the music of the 20s, 30s, and 40s. I remember very well standing at the piano singing old standards while he played piano in our living room. Although my Dad loved pretty much anything musical, his first love was for swing and jazz and early blues and as a result of his love for this style of music I grew up with the sounds of Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Fats Waller, and of course the early blues of Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee and Elizabeth Cotton.

My hope, for this collection of 11 tunes is that it will capture just a little bit of the feeling of that era, and most of all that it will make people smile a little bit in these troubled times we live in.  It is a simple goal really – and one that comes straight from my heart to yours and I hope that will succeed in making your world a better place.

This recording was produced by Western Swing Hall of Fame Inductee Conrad Nelson who in a better world would be making buckets of money with his prodigious talent for bring music to life – of course it also helps that he is a master if everything with strings and beyond as well!  Look for cameos from Joe Craven, as well as Western Swing Hall of Fame Inductees Olen Dillingham, Geoffrey Miller, Bob Woods and others.  So very grateful to have these talented people to bring these songs to life!

Look for “In My Sentimental Dreaming” in January 2019  – 11 songs that will swing in the style of Bob Wills, Peggy Lee, and that will pay tribute to early acoustic blues the grandfather of everything we know as “Americana” today!
