Recording of “Turning of the Page” completed!!!!

Great news and for me this is a reason to celebrate!  Recording on my new CD “Turning of the Page” is complete.  My sound engineer, Bruce Wheelock is now in the process of final mixing, editing and mastering.  Graphic art for the CD cover is for the most part done with just a few minor edits to complete the package.

This baker’s dozen of original songs features some of Northern California’s best – yup I recorded this in California!  Anyway – So far the disk features 4 Western swing hall of fame musicians:  Fiddle player Ronnie Elkin, Fiddle player Olen Dillingham, Pedal Steel player Dave Wren, and of course Conrad Nelson who is plays most everything with strings and more – Conrad also produced the songs and I am really thankful for all of his hard work and dedication.  Also on the disk is guitar player Larry Park.  Larry has spent many years as a session musician in LA and has recorded with the likes of Chris Hillman among others.  I am also very happy to have some of the locals from Georgetown California, which was my home of many years,  Guitarist Thom Bentley,  Lisa Torgerson plays her lovely violin, Steve Schultz and his accordion are featured on my song “Hard Times”.  Another Georgetown Local, former CDF Fire Chief, and very good friend Suzanne Todd totally kicks keester on background vocals.  Keyboards on the CD were done by Katie Baker from Nevada City, Drummer Ty Smith also from Nevada City is also featured on several songs and gossip has it that he played a cardboard box.

Oh and did I forget – This CD features little old me doing a Rock and Roll Song.  This is an original song about High School Bullying that was inspired in part by a young girl named Audrie Pott. So yes….there is life after folk music!

Anyway – to say I am excited is an understatement.  I will keep you all posted on CD release dates, CD release shows and such – but for now, all of you Northern California Peeps mark your calendar for Friday January 10th for the first CD release show at Dave’s Cave in Auburn California.  Check out the Schedule page for details.  For all of you North Idaho Peeps stay tuned for shows in spring of 2014.

Lyrics to be posted soon so check back!! That is it for now – Happy Holidaze y’all!!!!!
